Pipe & Pipe Fittings from Silver Valley

Valve Manufacturer

A valve is a mechanical device designed to control, regulate, or direct the flow of fluids (liquids, gases, or slurries) within a pipeline or system. It operates by opening, closing, or partially obstructing passages to manage fluid movement. Valves are essential components in various industries, including oil and gas, water treatment, and manufacturing.

The primary functions of valves include starting or stopping flow, adjusting flow rates, preventing backflow, and maintaining system pressure. They ensure safe, efficient, and precise operation of fluid systems, contributing to process control, energy conservation, and equipment protection. Valves are critical for maintaining system integrity and performance.

The Difference Between Butt-Weld Key And Butt-Weld Key And Threaded Pipe Fittings

Butt-welded pipe fittings, socket-and-spigot pipe fittings and threaded pipe fittings are common steel pipe fitting connection methods, each with its own characteristics.

Butt-welded pipe fittings connect pipe fittings to pipelines by welding, and are suitable for pipelines above DN40, high pressure, and large diameter. It has high connection strength and good sealing, but the welding process requires high requirements and requires 100% flaw detection to ensure no leakage.

Socket-and-spigot pipe fittings insert the pipeline into the socket of the pipe fitting and then weld or fix it in other ways. It is suitable for pipelines with small diameter and thin wall thickness. It is economical, easy to install, and has simple detection methods, but the stress condition after welding is not good, and it is easy to not penetrate. It is not suitable for pipelines with sensitive media for crevice corrosion and high cleanliness requirements.

Threaded pipe fittings rely on threaded connection and are suitable for pipelines with a nominal diameter of ≤50mm, a working pressure of less than 1.0MPa, and a medium temperature of ≤100℃. The advantages are simple manufacturing and use, reliable connection, good versatility, and reusability, but low pressure bearing and easy rot and leakage at the thread. When choosing, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the requirements of the pipeline system, working pressure, and medium characteristics.
