What is the difference between ANSI and ASME standards in terms of material requirements?

There is no essential difference between ANSI and ASME standards in terms of material requirements. ANSI (American National Standards Organization) is mainly responsible for coordinating and certifying standards, while ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) is responsible for developing detailed technical standards.

The ASME B16.5 standard covers the material requirements for steel flanges, including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc., which are suitable for different environments and operating conditions.
